Job description

JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Director of Design, employee is responsible for a variety of design/drafting activities including assisting with the preparation of and/or updating of models and drawings for projects, and assisting or preparing assembly/manufacturing drawings as requested. Other duties may be assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following represents a list of primary duties and responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned; tasks list are intended to be descriptive and not restrictive:

  • Prepare dimensional drawings, installation drawings, and a variety of more complex drawings (plant engineering)
  • Revise and update existing drawings reflecting design changes, in collaboration with the HSE Germany headquarters office to ensure consistent documentation of the project
  • Review and understand blueprints, plans, specifications, and other customer documentation requested as needed by engineers or project managers
  • Revise and update drawings from HSE Germany headquarters for NC manufacturing / assembly floor to ensure consistent documentation of the project
  • Fulfill other duties as required relating to all (CAD) database maintenance, Windchill (PLM) and (IFS/ERP) etc.
  • Work with project teams to execute projects and deliver in a timely manner, which meet and exceed the customer’s requirements.
  • Maintain notes, design calculations and other documentation (such as, bill of materials, and design parameters) for future reference as to established procedures by the (CAD) team.

Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in a hybrid (CAD) remote option office setting.

Occasional visits to customer sites may be required.

Occasionally perform work in the manufacturing facility (dust and noise may be present)

Training may take place in Germany

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those to be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The (CAD) designer must be able to concentrate for extended periods paying close attention to detail. The (CAD) designer’s work environment does not require much physical movement.

Individual will need sufficient remote technology required to perform (CAD) in the hybrid office environment.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Consistent attendance is important to this role to project dates and manufacturing deadlines dependent on the drawings and commitments to our vendors and customers.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a Full-Time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday – Friday, 8 to 5pm.

TRAVEL

Must have passport, or ability to obtain passport upon date of hire.

Annual or bi-annual training in Germany

Limited travel required to visit customer sites or tradeshows

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS

Required Qualifications

· Associate's degree or completion of a technical trade school in (CAD) design/drafting or related field, plus at least 3-5 years of related work experience: or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

· Component modeling, technical documentation and drawing experience using parametric/solid modeling (CAD) software (Required).

· Ability and willingness to travel to Germany up to twice per year

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Creo/ProEngineering 2.0-6.0
  • Experience with Windchill PDM software
  • Manufacturing design experience with sheet metal, fabrication, and welding CAD designs
