Job description

Join a dynamic healthcare team providing compassionate, direct patient care in Labor and Delivery, Recovery, and Post-Partum units within a regional medical center in the Pacific Northwest. This role involves comprehensive assessment and individualized care planning for mothers and newborns, with close collaboration alongside physicians to monitor and respond to clinical changes promptly.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and assist with care for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn patients, including support during cesarean sections and family education on infant and maternal care.
  • Adhere to current medication administration standards and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Maintain professional interactions with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Monitor fetal heart rate and uterine activity using continuous electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) and palpation, applying interventions per AWHONN and ACOG guidelines.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, organization, and composure in high-stress situations.
  • Recognize and respond effectively to obstetrical emergencies.
  • Participate in departmental projects and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through educational programs, literature review, and workshops.
  • Be available for on-call duties with the ability to report within 60 minutes.
Education and Experience:
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Active RN license eligible for compact licensure.
  • Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate EFM.
  • Completion of STABLE program and other mandated classes within 12 months.
  • Minimum of one year recent experience in Labor and Delivery or Newborn Nursery.

  • Demonstrate punctuality and reliability in work attendance.
  • Exhibit respectful, courteous communication with patients, guests, and staff.
