Job description

Summary
Performs waived, moderately complex, and highly complex testing in the clinical laboratory. Performs specimen procurement as appropriate; processes specimens; documents test results; and performs quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) functions. Performs tasks such as inventory maintenance, supply ordering, staff scheduling, and payroll reporting to assist supervisor in the effective operation of the department. Assists supervisor with the implementation of proficiency and staff competency programs.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. Completion of an approved Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program resulting in an Associate's degree or an Associate's degree in a related science, or compliance with the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) of 1988 personnel standards.
  2. American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS), or equivalent registry required.
  3. One year experience as a Medical Technologist.

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's of Science degree in Medical Technology or a related science.
  2. Three years of experience as a Medical Technologist.
  3. Two years of experience with automated Chemistry systems.
