Paragon Science Academy is an A-rated, STEM-focused charter school in Chandler, AZ and part of the Sonoran Schools network, a leader in K-12 STEM education since 2001. We are a tight-knit, mission-driven community where staff are valued, students are inspired, and collaboration is at the heart of everything we do.

Paragon Science Academy is seeking a dedicated and engaging Long Term Substitute Teacher to cover a 6โ€“12 Math maternity leave from July 14 through October 2, 2026. This full-time assignment ensures continuity of learning and a positive classroom experience throughout the coverage period.

Your Role Will Include:

  • Delivering daily math instruction for grades 6โ€“12 following established curriculum, lesson plans, and instructional expectations.
  • Creating an engaging, organized, and supportive classroom environment.
  • Implementing classroom management strategies that promote student achievement.
  • Monitoring student progress, providing feedback, and supporting individual learning needs.
  • Maintaining accurate attendance, grades, and classroom records.
  • Communicating effectively with students, families, and school staff.
  • Collaborating with teachers and administrators to ensure a smooth transition and consistent student support.
  • Promoting a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree required; degree in Mathematics preferred.
  • Secondary mathematics teaching experience preferred.
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Pay Rate: $190/day, paid bi-weekly.
  • This is a 1099 independent contractor position. Benefits are not included.
