Job description

Harvest Preparatory Academy, a K-12 charter school located in Yuma and San Luis, Arizona, is seeking a passionate and highly qualified educator for an appropriately certified candidates for both ELA and Math Interventionist at the Yuma campus. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work with students across multiple grade levels, addressing their specific needs in Math or ELA.
Position Overview
The candidate will work to support students in improving their math or ELA skills through small group interventions. The position will require strong time management skills and the ability to seamlessly meet the academic and career readiness needs of the students.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide small group and individualized math or ELA interventions, focusing on students in grades 5-12 who are below grade level in math or ELA.
  • Develop targeted lessons to address areas of deficiency in math or ELA, helping students build foundational skills and increase their academic performance.
  • Regularly assess student progress through tools such as the Galileo monitoring system, and adjust lesson plans based on data.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and school staff to track at-risk students and provide timely support.
  • Keep accurate records of student progress and report to parents/guardians regarding student achievement.
  • Prepare weekly lesson plans that target specific math skills for improvement.

Qualifications
  • Must be highly qualified in math or ELA education, with a strong background in teaching middle and high school students.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Passing score on the NES/AEPA exam (if applicable).
  • Experience in teaching or leading interventions in math or ELA is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and collaborate with colleagues.
  • Passion for working with math and/or ELA students to help them succeed academically and prepare for their careers.
