Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate High School Mathematics Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will create a positive, inclusive, and challenging learning environment that helps students develop strong mathematical skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. You will be responsible for teaching curriculum ranging from Algebra and Geometry to Advanced Math (e.g., Pre-Calculus, Statistics).
Key Responsibilities
Instruction: Develop and deliver lesson plans that are engaging and align with state/Common Core standards.
Assessment: Regularly evaluate student performance through tests, assignments, and projects to monitor progress and adjust teaching methods.
Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, orderly, and encouraging environment conducive to learning.
Individualized Support: Provide extra help and differentiated instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs.
Communication: Meet with parents and guardians to discuss student performance and provide progress updates.
Collaboration: Work with colleagues to develop curriculum initiatives and participate in professional development.
Technology Integration: Utilize technology to supplement instruction and enhance student understanding.

  • Selects and requisitions appropriate books, instructional aids and other supplies and equipment and maintains inventory records.
  • Supervises students in activities that take place out of the classroom during the school day, including activities involving school transportation and lunch.
  • Administers standardized tests in accordance with district testing programs.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.
  • Reliable work attendance is required.

All positions assigned 30 or more hours weekly (typically 6 hours daily) are eligible for a full benefits package, including medical, dental and vision insurance and paid leave.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a field applicable to senior high school education.
  • License issued by Iowa BoEE for senior high school teaching.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy enabling differentiation
  • Knowledge of senior high school curriculum and concepts.
  • Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
  • Ability to use computer network system, techonology devices and software applications.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, coworkers and the greater community.
  • Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
