Job description

Position: Summer Academy Educational Assistant  Substitute
 

Job Statement: Will work with individuals or groups of students to reinforce teacher instruction. Students served may have special handicapping conditions or behavioral concerns that require assistance for the student to succeed.
 

Qualifications:

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to assist with toileting may be required
  • General skills in mathematics, English and writing
  • Ability to work with students and adults
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with children in groups or classroom setting desired
  • Must be NCLB qualified:
    • 2 years education at an institution of higher education
    • Associates degree, or
    • Successful completion of a competency assessment administered by the district on reading, writing, mathematics and instructional delivery skills

Availability:  7/20/2026-8/13/2026 / 4 days per week

Educational Assistants who are helping with elementary summer school will work from 8:30 am- 2:15 pm which will include a 30-minute lunch and a 15-minute break during that time. There is an additional 1 hour of pre-session orientation for Educational Assistants, which will occur before the first day of summer academy.


Salary: Hourly Range: $21.10
