Description:
The Math Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, standards-aligned instruction that supports student growth, critical thinking, and academic achievement in middle school mathematics. The teacher fosters a structured, positive classroom culture while preparing students for advanced mathematical concepts and state assessments.
Reports To: Assistant Principal / Principal
Requirements:
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and deliver daily math instruction aligned to Florida state standards
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including ESE and ESOL students
- Use data to drive instructional decisions and monitor student progress
- Maintain accurate grades, attendance, and student records
- Create a positive and well-managed classroom environment
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and concerns
- Collaborate with grade-level and instructional teams
- Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives
- Support student achievement on FAST and other assessments
- Maintain compliance with all school policies and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field
- Valid Florida Teaching Certificate in Mathematics (Grades 5-9 preferred)
- Middle school teaching experience preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and families
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- ESOL endorsement or certification
- Experience with accelerated or intensive math intervention
- Knowledge of standards-based grading and curriculum planning
