Job description

Job Title: Analytical Instrumentation Technician
Location: Vacaville, CA (Onsite)

Pay Range: $30-51/hr. on W2
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Overtime as required)
 

Position Summary: The Analytical Instrumentation Technician will be responsible for ensuring that Process Analytical Technology (PAT) systems deployed on the manufacturing floor are fit for purpose and fully operational. This includes routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation of maintenance activities in SAP. The technician will also support new PAT system deployment efforts while maintaining current systems.

Note: At least 75% of the role will involve working gowned within a GMP manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance on PAT systems; document all completed activities in SAP.
  • Troubleshoot and investigate equipment-related events and collaborate with instrument vendors for resolution.
  • Escort vendors on site when needed and ensure compliance with safety and operational procedures.
  • Support planned equipment changes and contribute to continuous improvement of system reliability.
  • Assist with the deployment of new PAT systems while maintaining support for existing ones.
  • Apply data integrity principles when using data management systems like Smartline Data Cockpit (SDC).
  • Maintain compliance with cGMP and biopharmaceutical manufacturing standards.
  • Work independently with limited supervision to reduce equipment downtime and prevent failures.

Preferred Technical Experience:

  • Operation and maintenance of:
    • Roche Cedex Bio, Cedex HiRes, Cobas b 221
    • YSI 2900 Biochemistry Analyzer
    • Nova BioProfile FLEX2
    • Advanced Instruments OsmoTech XT & Osmometer 3250
    • Endress+Hauser Raman analyzers
  • Data systems: Smartline Data Cockpit (SDC)
  • Knowledge of SAP system is a plus

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Engineering or Analytical Science preferred
  • Industry Experience:
    • Prior experience with analytical systems in GMP manufacturing or QC lab environments is preferred

  • Solid understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs)
  • Strong knowledge of analytical techniques used in biopharmaceutical settings
  • Ability to calibrate, repair, and maintain a wide variety of analytical devices and instruments
