Senior Instrumentation Flight Test Engineer

The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) organization is seeking a Senior Instrumentation Flight Test Engineer located in Oklahoma City, OK. You will have the unique opportunity to support Boeing Mobility & Bomber portfolio products. In joining this program, you will be part of an outstanding team of technical designers & engineers making history as we shape this one-of-a-kind next generation Aircraft. Key responsibilities include test planning, configuration control, test conduct, as well as data collection and analysis to assure product safety, performance, and regulatory certification during all flight and ground tests. At Boeing, our engineers use their expertise to create innovative next generation capabilities for a wide variety of amazing aerospace platforms and products.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads others in the development of standard test methods and processes and applies advanced test technologies to create or improve test methods

  • Writes invention disclosures to protect Boeing Intellectual Property

  • Prepares R&D proposals and presents to internal management and external customer

  • Applies emerging industry technologies to develop test procedures

  • Reviews critical procedures to identify potential problems and resolve issues

  • Develops innovative metrology design techniques, processes, methods, or concepts

  • Oversees the integration of new design and manufacturing techniques into test hardware/system designs

  • Analyzes processes for potential improvements and recommends associated changes

  • Develops the standard policies for post-test activity

  • Resolves or oversees resolution of special test procedures

  • Works with the enterprise test and engineering group to standardize evaluation techniques

  • Formulates expectations for test data for new or unique tests

  • Trains and coaches others

  • Works under consultative direction

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 10+ years of experience with instrumentation data systems in all phases of flight test (modification, execution, and refurbishment)
  • Experience working with Accelerometers, Pressure sensors, Temperature sensors, Force sensors, Strain gages, Position sensor and Flowmeters
  • Experience with calibration methods like regression, polynomial and hysteresis
  • Understanding of mechanical design and the ability to decipher engineering drawings

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with military commercial derivative aircraft
  • Held an active U.S. Security Clearance in the past 24 months
