Job description

We are hiring for our direct client.

This is a contract position: 6 months with a possibility of extension.

Onsite: 5 days a week.


Description of Services:

•             Develop high-quality, academically structured analysis reports (“white-paper” style) that provide rigorous, data-driven examinations of key safety issues and emerging hazards or trends.

•             Compile data, analyze, and report monthly on trends for progress towards annual safety key performance indicators, as well as an assessment of mitigations to senior leadership.

•             Compile data, analyze, and prepare data packages for Safety Investigations to further prepare investigative teams to understand the context of individual events and key related trends.

•             Compile data, analyze, and prepare ad hoc reports that support various Safety Risk Management activities that review incident and hazard data for potential identification for further actions.

•             Analyze data in coordination with our State Safety Oversight Agency to review progress of mitigations and their impacts from Risk Based Inspection programs.

Essential Skills:

•             Knowledge and experience with quantitative analysis, including statistical evaluation of incident and operational data, interpretation of key performance indicators, and the ability to integrate and reconcile multi-modal datasets into coherent analytic products that support trend identification, risk assessment, and evidence-based decision-making

•             Knowledge and experience producing long-form analytical writing products that include literature review, comprehensive documentation, and formal recommendations

•             Ability to communicate effectively across a team, collaborate with team members in other divisions, and present complex findings to a variety of audiences.

•             Competency in data visualization best practices and translating raw data into accessible charts that accurately define the problem and help readers to understand the key recommendations or trend information portrayed.

•             Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Suite (SharePoint, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

•             Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills

•             Problem-solving and trend identification skills

•             Attention to detail, accuracy of information, and professionalism

Qualifications:

•             A bachelor’s degree; an associate degree or high school diploma or GED with equivalent experience may be a substitute for a bachelor’s degree.

•             2 years of experience in data analytics, technical report writing, or a related field.

•             Excellent writing skills with long-form, narrative reports that are accessible to non-technical audiences and the broader public audience.

•             Basic statistical analysis skills to include an understanding of linear modeling, standard error, distribution, and variance.

•             Basic data modeling skills to include an understanding of joining, merging, summarizing, and sampling.

•             Preferred knowledge and experience with Root Cause Analysis, to include causal factor identification, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and the Human Factors Analysis and Classification System (HFACS) framework.

•             Preferred knowledge and experience with programming languages (SQL, R, and/or Python) and their use for performing data and statistical analysis.
