We are seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer I/II to join our dynamic team in San Luis Obispo. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing processes and methods aligned with product specifications, quality standards, and operational goals. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement, ensure manufacturability, and maintain compliance with internal and external standards.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement manufacturing processes and methods for both new and existing products
• Integrate automation into existing production line
• Manufacturing Execution Systems Experience
• Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure manufacturability and design efficiency
• Analyze and improve production workflows for efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness
• Create and maintain clear, detailed manufacturing documentation, including work instructions and standard operating procedures
• Support the selection, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing equipment, tooling, and processes
• Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for manufacturing issues
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations and company standards
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field
• For Manufacturing Engineer I: 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role
• For Manufacturing Engineer II: 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role
• Proficiency in CAD software and manufacturing process simulation tools
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and methods including flow, layout, assembly and production equipment, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Automation or machining experience highly desired
• Experience in the aerospace or defense industry (preferred)
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality management systems (preferred)
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies (preferred)
Pay Ranges:
Level I - $77,000 - $91,000
Level II - $91,000 - $112,000
