Job description

Job Summary (Associate Agile Developer in Test – Internship)
- Position: Associate Agile Developer in Test (SDET Intern/Recent Graduate)
- Location: Phoenix, Arizona (Hybrid: Onsite for 2-3 days, then monthly; otherwise remote)
- Duration: 6-month internship
- Hours: 20–40 hours/week (flexible around college classes)
- Eligibility: Current college students or recent graduates in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
- Visa Status: No sponsorship available; must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Responsibilities:
- Support release verification (smoke/regression validation, release readiness checks, documentation of results)
- Create, review, and maintain test cases based on user stories and acceptance criteria
- Build and enhance automated tests using Java, JUnit, Selenium, and Cucumber (BDD)
- Collaborate early with developers to clarify requirements, identify test scenarios, and enhance testability
- Improve and maintain test framework components (page objects, step definitions, data utilities)
- Analyze test failures and contribute to defect triage (clear reproduction steps, logs, root-cause hints)
- Contribute to documentation and continuous improvement efforts (test strategies, coverage tracking, regression checklists)
Required Knowledge/Skills:
- Pursuing or recently completed degree in relevant field
- Working knowledge of Java and OOP (coursework/projects acceptable)
- Basic understanding of software testing concepts (unit testing, defect lifecycle)
- Foundational database testing skills and familiarity with SQL (Oracle/MongoDB a plus)
- Exposure to build tools (Maven)
- Basic scripting in at least one language (Bash/Shell, PowerShell, or Python)
- Comfortable working in an Agile environment
Preferred/Familiarity (Nice to Have):
- Exposure to CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Nexus)
- Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes
- Understanding of Cucumber (BDD/Gherkin) and Selenium UI automation
- Basic knowledge of performance/load testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner, etc.)

- Experience with MyBatis, Tomcat, or IBM FileNet workflows
