Job description

At Banks, we don't bolt on parts, we engineer complete systems from the crankshaft out. We've been doing it since 1958; setting records, winning championships, and building engines the U.S. military trusts.
We're looking for an experienced CAD Technician who'll draft designs for mechanical and electromechanical parts and systems for high-performance automotive applications.
What You'll Do
  • Create 3D models and 2D drawings of automotive performance components and systems Using SolidWorks
  • Assist with prototype development and translate prototype into production-ready drawings
  • Coordinate prototype fabrication and installation activities, ensuring products and systems conform to engineering design and specification; evaluate results and provide design feedback to responsible engineers
  • Utilize digitizers and/or 3D scanners to reverse-engineer parts
  • Support development of Bills of Material (BOM), technical product installation guides, and owner's manuals which includes creating illustrations from CAD as needed
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with purchasing, manufacturing, customer service, installation, and external vendors throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Partner with fabrication teams in the building of test apparatus and equipment
  • Research OEM and competitor products and patents, and recommend design strategies and improvements
  • Assist with First Article inspections as needed
  • Manage multiple projects while maintaining accuracy, speed, and attention to detail
  • Apply sound engineering principles while adapting to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • 2+ years of experience using SolidWorks to create 3D models and 2D drawings
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally in a hands-on environment
  • Curious, resourceful, and not afraid to dig into problems and find solutions
  • Interest in automotive performance is a big plus

$27-$31 USD
