Job Description Summary
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering needs to fill one tenure-track assistant professor position.The department is looking for candidates in the broad areas of Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Data Science, and Computer Systems, although outstanding candidates in other related areas will also be considered. The position will begin on August 15, 2026. Candidates must show exceptional promise in both research and teaching.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. in Computer Science, or a closely related field by the appointment date.
Special Instructions to Applicants
Review of applications will begin on January 15th, 2026 and continue until the position is filled. Applicants should submit a letter of intent, CV, transcripts (unofficial), a statement of research, and a statement of teaching.
  • The teaching statement should include a list of undergraduate and graduate courses that the applicant will be willing to teach as well as outlines of two courses that the applicant would like to introduce. Information about the current courses offered by the department is available on the departmental website at https://www.oakland.edu/secs/departments/cse/.
  • Applicants will be asked for the names and email addresses of three references in the application process. References will be contacted to upload the letter of reference directly.
