The CAD Designer I assists in CAD production, design coordination, and standards compliance. This position supports project success by coordinating with team members to deliver high-quality project documentation while meeting deadlines and company standards.


  • Assist in the preparation of quality Land Development Plans, Zoning Plans, Concept Plans, and Exhibits 
  • Ability to utilize multiple software applications in the preparation of Land Development Plans 
  • Ability to apply municipal design standards for layout restrictions and guidelines 
  • Coordinate files and sharing with outside agencies 
  • Ability to perform tasks based on CAD coordination between Engineers, CAD Designers, and Project Managers on projects 
  • Ensure drawing deliverables meet scope, schedule, budget, regulatory requirements, and company standards 
  • Apply best practices to workflows and meet project milestones and timelines 
  • Maintain drawing file organization in accordance with company standards and proper archiving procedures 
  • Perform progressive plan checks and final-level QA/QC reviews to ensure drawing accuracy, constructability, and consistency prior to submission 
  • Establish, maintain, and enforce CAD standards, workflows, and best practices, including client templates, CAD training presentations, and written or recorded guides 
  • Mentor CAD users alongside CAD Management and serve as a technical resource 
  • Encourage continuous improvement, automation, and innovation among CAD users while embracing new technologies and software 
  • Participate in cross-office work sharing while maintaining responsibility for assigned deliverables
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, CAD, or a related field preferred; or one (1) year of professional experience utilizing CAD 
  • Understanding of CAD principles and drafting practices
  • Understanding of land development principles and practices 

  • Ability to participate in CAD workflows and maintain project timelines 
  • Ability to problem solve and resolve issues related to CAD drawings 
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments effectively 
  • Ability to resolve issues as directed 
  • Strong attention to detail while maintaining consistent workflow quality
