Job description

Business Development Associate
Build Relationships. Drive Opportunities. Grow Your Career.
Our client is looking for a motivated, organized, and relationship-focused Business Development Associate to join their growing Commercial team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys connecting with people, coordinating multiple moving pieces, and playing an important role in bringing projects from opportunity to completion. You'll work closely with experienced business development leaders, gain exposure to a wide range of commercial and multifamily projects, and build valuable industry relationships along the way.
If you're naturally curious, love staying organized, and thrive in a collaborative environment where no two days are the same, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing This role combines business development, project coordination, and sales support into one dynamic position. Your time will be focused across three key areas:
Business Development & Networking
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities within the commercial and multifamily market
  • Build relationships with general contractors, developers, architects, designers, and industry partners
  • Attend networking events, trade shows, and industry functions
  • Conduct market research and outreach to generate new leads
  • Support senior business development leadership with meetings, presentations, and follow-up activities
Proposal & Bid Coordination
  • Coordinate bid submissions, tenders, proposals, and supporting documentation
  • Review drawings, plans, specifications, and project documents
  • Track proposal status and ensure timely follow-up with clients
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and ensure proposal accuracy
  • Maintain detailed records of opportunities and project progress
Client & Project Support
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients
  • Respond to inquiries and provide ongoing project support
  • Coordinate with sales, project management, and operational teams to ensure seamless communication
  • Help transition projects from business development through to project execution
  • Maintain CRM records and reporting within Salesforce
What Makes You Successful We're looking for someone who is:
  • A strong communicator who can adapt to different audiences
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Reliable with excellent follow-through
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Curious and eager to learn about products, construction, and design
  • Confident enough to take ownership and humble enough to ask questions
  • Relationship-driven and focused on long-term partnerships rather than quick wins
  • Comfortable balancing administrative responsibilities with client-facing activities
What You'll Bring
  • Experience in business development, sales support, project coordination, estimating, procurement, or a similar B2B environment
  • Understanding of how commercial purchasing and decision-making processes work
  • Experience working with contractors, construction, design, architecture, renovation, supply chain, or related industries is considered a strong asset
  • Ability to review plans, drawings, and project documents with confidence
  • Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce
  • Strong written communication and proposal-writing abilities
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, Design, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field is an asset, though equivalent experience is equally valued
Why Join Our Client?
  • Work alongside an experienced mentor and business development leader who is invested in your success
  • Gain exposure to a broad range of commercial, multifamily, and design-driven projects
  • Develop valuable industry connections and expand your professional network
  • Enjoy a collaborative, team-oriented culture with plenty of opportunities to learn and grow
  • Competitive compensation including team-based bonus opportunities
  • Mileage reimbursement for business travel
  • Comprehensive benefits following probation
  • Flexible vacation approach
  • Team events, activities, and a workplace culture that appreciates hard work and a good sense of humour
Who Will Thrive Here?
This role is ideal for someone early in their career who wants to build a long-term future in business development, commercial sales, construction, design, or project management.
If you enjoy building relationships, staying organized, solving problems, and being part of a team that values collaboration over ego, this could be the perfect next step.
Apply today and bring your curiosity, organization, and relationship-building skills to a role where you'll make a real impact.
