PURPOSE: Louisiana State University of Alexandria (LSUA) invites applications for a full-time Instructor of Biology position. This is a nine-month, non-remote position. The selected candidate will primarily teach Human Anatomy and Physiology courses, general education biology courses for non-science majors, and other courses as departmental needs arise. The instructor will support student success through effective teaching, course development, advising, and service to the department and university.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Teach undergraduate courses in Human Anatomy and Physiology and general biology in face-to-face and online formats.
  • Teach general education biology courses for non-majors.
  • Develop and deliver lectures, laboratory activities, assignments, and assessments.
  • Develop online biology courses in collaboration with LSU Online as needed.
  • Develop syllabi and instructional materials aligned with course objectives.
  • Evaluate student performance through assignments, examinations, and other assessment methods.
  • Provide support to students through office hours, tutoring, advising, and communication.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum and instructional quality.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and service activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Education: Graduate degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Human Anatomy and Physiology or a related biological science field.
  • Experience: Teaching experience, preferably at the undergraduate level in biology.
