Job description

As a Data Analytics Senior Associate, you'll focus on middle-market transactions, serving dynamic organizations with experienced professionals who bring a full range of advisory services to validate, optimize and create value for the Transaction Advisory Practice - all with the resources, environment, and support to help you excel. Our Financial Due Diligence solution is comprised of several integrated capabilities that support our clients' needs throughout the transaction lifecycle.
This role entails obtaining, validating, normalizing and analyzing deal data (e.g., revenue, cost, unit economics, inventory, etc.). As a key member of the deal team, you'll use your expert knowledge of data manipulation and visualization to identify and articulate insights that impact client deal success.
Your day-to-day may include:
  • Extensive exposure to granular accounting data, including reconciliations between financials and detailed data
  • Collaborate with client teams, adjacent engagement teams, and external advisors to identify, collect, validate, and analyze data from various business cycles (revenue, procurement, supply chain, inventory, etc.)
  • Consolidate and synthesize deal data into trend analysis, insights, and outliers
  • Provide observations into behavior, trends, financials and business operations through data analysis and translate into illustrative visualizations
  • Develop dashboards to clearly articulate the insights reflected
  • Utilize advanced business intelligence tools including complex calculations, table calculations, mapping, data blending and optimization of data extracts
  • Other duties as assigned

You have the following technical skills, qualifications, and abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and strong foundational knowledge of accounting processes, systems, reconciliation, and reporting
  • Minimum 2 years of related work experience analyzing large data sets, with specific emphasis on financial and operational data: revenue cycle, profitability, unit economics, labor, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience in business analytics and data mining
  • Experience in a similar consulting function servicing cross-industry clients at a national level
  • Professional working knowledge of ETL transformations and manipulations using Alteryx as well as visualizations in Excel, Tableau, and PowerBI
  • Excellent written, presentation, leadership, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to identify, visualize, and clearly articulate key trends, outliers, and other patterns observed in your analysis
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as SQL and Python a strong plus
  • CPA / MBA and/or relevant professional certification a strong plus
