The base salary range for this position is $150,200 to $188,700 (USD), exclusive of any discretionary bonuses and benefits.

JOB DESCRIPTION

MissionEdge Technologies is seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior Data Scientist to contribute to the planning, development, and integration of enterprise-grade production AI models, services, and applications. This hands‑on individual contributor role requires a deep understanding of advanced AI concepts and a proven track record of bringing prototype capabilities to scalable, enterprise-level deployment.

Essential Job Functions:

• Design, develop, and integrate enterprise‑grade production AI/ML models, services, and applications.
• Transition prototype AI capabilities for enterprise deployment at scale and speed.
• Leverage advanced proficiency in Python and popular AI/Deep Learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• Apply expertise in Generative AI, including Large Language Models (LLMs), model customization (e.g., finetuning), Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), and agentic orchestration.
• Utilize AI & Machine Learning techniques to solve complex business problems.
• Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams to deliver robust and innovative AI solutions.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• Due to the nature of this position and the information that employees willbe requiredtoaccess;U.S. Citizenship isrequired.
• Active TS/SCI w/ polygraph.
• B.S. in a relevant technical field with 12 years of experience, or M.S. in a relevant technical field with 10 years of experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and common data science libraries (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, etc).
• Knowledge of Generative AI, including Large Language Models and ability to instrument and interpret evaluation of models and applications for effectiveness.
• Experience with AI/Machine Learning methodologies and applications.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable plans.

Desired/Preferred Skills:

• Experience with AI/Deep Learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Experience with model customization, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), agentic orchestration, common agentic paradigms such as Model Context Protocol (MCP) and Agent-2-Agent (A2A).
• Experience with MLOps practices and tools for deploying and managing AI models in production.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Continuous learning mindset to stay abreast of cutting‑edge AI advancements.

Working Conditions:

Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are normally set from Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required. Additional details on the precise hours will be informed to the candidate from the Program Manager/Hiring Manager.

Employees are required to notify management in advance of any plans to relocate out of state to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment regulations.

Physical Requirements:

May be required to lift and carry items weighting up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday.

Successful Completion of a Background Screening/Check/Investigation will be required as a condition of hire.
