The job details are as follows:
As an Associate Data Scientist you will work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain OCLC's data platform with up-to-date, quality data
  • Translate business problems to technical requirements to design rapid prototypes of reports and dashboards
  • Build and maintain data models, reports, dashboards, and KPI/metrics from internal databases
  • Write performant code that meets our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale data environment. Maintain and advocate for these standards through code review.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis for quality assurance, reporting, and to inform the development of statistical and machine learning models
  • Implement the DataOps philosophy in everything you do
  • Create and maintain documentation for data science initiatives and data resources
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists to drive efficiencies for their work

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's in a quantitative field (e.g., Engineering/CS/Math/Stats) + 2+ years in a data science role or Master's + 1+ year in a data science role
  • Proficient in SQL for data warehouses
  • Intermediate Python proficiency (pandas/numpy, scikit-learn; visualization with matplotlib/seaborn/plotly)
  • Experience applying statistical and machine learning methods; solid grounding in probability and statistical inference
  • Experience with hypothesis testing and designing/analyzing experiments
  • Exposure to cloud environments and software engineering best practices (e.g., Git, code reviews, testing)
  • Strong data storytelling and communication skills; comfortable working in agile, collaborative teams
