Location: Frederick, Maryland. Local candidates preferred.
Employment Type: W-2 or 1099. Corp to Corp not accepted.

Final Interview: In person

Position Summary

Dhaka Technologies Limited Company is hiring for a Senior Data Engineer and Analyst on behalf of its client. This is an onsite, task order based consulting role supporting a large public sector organization across multiple departments.

The engineer leads data architecture, pipeline development, and analytics work on assigned task orders, designing the structures that move raw operational data into measurable performance metrics, and providing technical direction to junior analysts. Placement is contingent upon contract award.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data architecture, data models, and integration patterns supporting client reporting and analytics needs
  • Build and maintain ETL and ELT pipelines that consolidate data from departmental systems into reportable structures
  • Define performance metrics with client stakeholders and translate them into repeatable, auditable calculations
  • Develop and deploy dashboards and visualizations in Power BI, Tableau, or comparable platforms
  • Validate data quality, resolve discrepancies, and document data lineage and business rules
  • Automate recurring reporting so client staff can maintain outputs after the engagement closes
  • Provide technical direction and quality review to assigned data analysts and reporting specialists
  • Present analytical findings and recommendations to non technical stakeholders in plain language
  • Document data structures, transformations, and procedures in a format acceptable to the client and retrievable on request
  • Maintain availability for client consultation between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM Eastern, Monday through Friday, respond to inquiries within one business day, and respond to urgent requests within four hours

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, or a closely related field
  • Minimum seven years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or advanced analytics
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and demonstrated experience with Python or a comparable scripting language
  • Demonstrated experience designing and operating ETL or ELT pipelines in a production environment
  • Hands on experience building dashboards in Power BI, Tableau, or a comparable business intelligence platform
  • Experience defining performance measures and translating operational questions into analytical work
  • Ability to work independently under broad direction and to handle confidential data appropriately
  • Ability to report onsite in Frederick, Maryland on the schedule required by the assigned task order

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting a government client at the federal, state, county, or municipal level
  • Experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, Snowflake, or Databricks
  • Familiarity with public sector data privacy, retention, and public information requirements
  • Experience with data warehouse modernization or migration projects
  • Currently residing in the Frederick, Maryland area or the surrounding region

Certifications
