Job Summary:
Keylent Inc is seeking a Data Engineer Lead to work with DUKE Energy. The role involves designing proof of technology using AWS services, mentoring team members, and supporting backlog creation and prioritization.
Responsibilities:
• Design Proof of Technology using AWS platform and services for various client requirements and demonstrate them
• To take part in software and architectural development activities
• Enjoy a healthy technical debate but know how to collaboratively solve problems that move everyone forward
• Mentor team member during design, development, testing & production fix
• Develop MVP User Stories (Re-usable components/ API's / UI / Mock stubs etc.)
• Support backlog creation, prioritization, and Story mapping
• Support in technical design and solutioning
• Ability to work across tiers – UI development, APIs, databases (basic developer level tasks)
• Ability to utilize DevOps CI/CD pipeline, create/configure build and deploy jobs
• Responsible for assigned task delivery and quality and knowledge transfer through daily pairing with Duke team members
• Works well within tight deadlines (able to prioritize)
Qualifications:
Required:
• Minimum ten (10) years technical experience in each of the following: Design Proof of Technology using AWS platform and services for various client requirements and demonstrate them
• To take part in software and architectural development activities
• Enjoy a healthy technical debate but know how to collaboratively solve problems that move everyone forward
• Mentor team member during design, development, testing & production fix
• Develop MVP User Stories (Re-usable components/ API's / UI / Mock stubs etc.)

• Ability to work across tiers – UI development, APIs, databases (basic developer level tasks)

• Key technology skill set – AWS Services (AWS platform and services knowledge including AWS Lambda, API Gateway) + Data Skills -Glue, Informatica/Kafka/AWS Data flow
• Data Engineer with Informatica knowledge
• 3+ years of experience in cloud development (preferably 5-7 yrs but may not have all been in AWS)
• Python and Terraform skills – additional advantages
• Motivated and energetic engineers who are passionate about software modernization
• Must be able to clearly communicate with team members and leadership
• AWS (lambda) + KAFKA with Java or Flink java APIs
Preferred:
• Advantage having Additional technology skill set – Kafka, Spark, MongoDB/DynamoDB/Aurora
• Nice to have: ECS/EKS, and at least Solution Architect Associate, Developer, or Data Specialty certification
