Job Description:

  • Entry Level Position for PLM Analyst and Spare Parts.
  • Position is part of the Engineering organization and responsible for initiating range of activities surrounding Bill of Material and Spare Parts Spreadsheet creation and supporting data management throughout the product lifecycle (PLM / SAP).
  • The role will include Part and BOM, Spreadsheet creation, change management, and communication relevant to supporting data such as intended effectivity dates and material disposition.
  • This position will also serve to promote best practices and internal business processes with relation to change management and general PLM functions along with Spare Part Management.
  • Understanding different customer requirements, Paint Codes, Alpha or Numeric release, and the difference between kits, and or record update.
  • Must be able to move in out files / folder structure.
  • The ability to understand Shown and Opposites, Part Description and Quantities.
  • Candidate would have to able to work under moderate supervision, carry out a variety of Tasks ranging from light to moderately assignments, exercising the use of initiatives and independent judgment.
  • May work independently at times.

Required Skills:

  • Must be comfortable moving in out files / folder structure.
  • Understand order processing.
  • Take part in analyze, process and track change submissions to minimize processing time between submission and implementation.
  • Participate in the development and continuous improvement of the change process and other related practices.
  • Would assist in the communication of the Bill of Material requirements between Supply Chain and Production to facilitate material planning, order fulfillment and execution.
  • Show the ability to understand Shown and Opposites, Part Description and Quantities.
  • Knowledge of understanding of product release cycle as it relates to the creation and change management of parts and BOM structures.
  • Knowledge of understanding of multilevel Bill of Material hierarchy, including hardware and software components.
  • Multitasks, Interfacing with all Departments, Progress Reporting, Check, Data Entry, Resolve Issues, Misc. Tasks, Customer Requests
  • Strong Excel skill / work with Spread sheets and tables
  • Problem Solving, must track and resolve until closed
  • Able to identify, collect and document parts data for incorporation into spread sheet. Modify system tables to incorporate a consistent format of nomenclatures, assets and locations of all spare parts.

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of, or has used PLM / GPS / SAP. Data management Entry (Product Life Cycle Management).
  • Knowledge of PBS (Product Break Down Structure), this would be the Lower B.O.M. Structure.
  • knowledge and skills working in product lifecycle management applications (such as Enovia & ERP systems, or comparable PLM environments.)
  • Input BOM information in to PLM and PDF drawings, understanding different customer requirements, Paint Codes, Alpha or Numeric release, and the difference between kits, and or record update.
  • Knowledge of Spare Parts Spread sheets and internal SOPs related to companies’ requirement or similar experience in other type of regulated industry. Good working knowledge of automotive industry.
  • Release / Create Bill of Material structures based on input from Engineering and Manufacturing to represent appropriate multilevel structuring.
  • Ensure data integrity between systems (PLM & ERP, etc.…) throughout the change cycle.
  • Mechanical and Controls Background
  • Mechanical Design Experience (School or Work) Possibly supporting NX, AutoCAD and or Catia cad software.
  • Mechanically in inclined / Aptitude

Education:

  • Education: Associates degree or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a minimum of two to four years of equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word and data processing.
  • Managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), Microsoft Project etc.
  • Mathematics, Knowledge of basic arithmetic and its application.
  • Writing, Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience
  • Occasionally travel may be required.
