The Senior Sales Analyst is a strategic partner to Sales Leadership, responsible for creating reports, analyzing data, and delivering insights to drive decision-making and growth. Collaborating with leaders, this role focuses on business planning, sales performance analysis, and identifying opportunities. As a subject matter expert, the Analyst provides market intelligence and strategic recommendations. Key responsibilities include business planning, performance evaluation, inventory management, pricing strategies, and demand forecasting, with advanced proficiency in analyzing customer behavior, sales trends, and market dynamics. This role supports organizational goals, optimizes sales performance, and drives innovation.
Job Description:
Candidate must be local and able to work on a hybrid schedule out of our Minneapolis, MN office.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Perform complex data analysis using tools like PowerBI, SAP WebIntelligence, and Excel to support strategic initiatives.
    • Build and deliver analytic presentations in PowerPoint, providing actionable insights to influence business decisions.
    • Research division needs, including competitor analysis, GAP analysis, and strategy support.
    • Design and produce standardized and ad-hoc reports, integrating multiple systems, and support senior leadership requests.
    • Identify growth, innovation, and competitive opportunities to drive market share, revenue, and profitability.
    • Deliver supplier and customer insights by integrating data sources to inform strategic decisions.
    • Develop metrics for key initiatives, assess channel performance, and track progress using appropriate documentation.
  • Business Planning and Strategy:
    • Support division leadership in business planning, performance measurement, and analysis activities.
    • Ensure consistency in performance tracking across sales divisions and supplier partnerships using analytics and insights.
    • Identify sales opportunities and deliver actionable solutions using internal, syndicated, and industry data.
    • Develop business plans and communication materials for division associates and leadership.
    • Prepare Quarterly Business Reviews, "Top to Top" decks, and other business review materials, including ad-hoc requests.
    • Manage the monthly business planning process, including setup, communication, and report preparation.
  • Leadership and Collaboration:
    • Lead technology training sessions for sales and analytics stakeholders on business intelligence tools.
    • Administer sales incentive plans and manage inquiries related to program execution.
    • Standardize reporting across assigned portfolios and act as a liaison for corporate reporting strategies.
  • Ad-Hoc Projects and Goal Management:
    • Lead strategic projects and analyses, translating business inquiries into actionable reports and presenting findings to stakeholders.
    • Manage the sales goal process and implementation through the Goal Model framework.
    • Assist in goal-setting processes and prepare presentations for business reviews and planning meetings.
    • Ensure performance tracking and reporting align with company standards and supplier partnership expectations.
  • Other duties, as assigned by the jobholder's supervisor, may also be required.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field and/or equivalent training and work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' of experience in finance, marketing, or business analyst role
  • Advanced PC skills using MS Office and other various computer programs including presentation software
  • Must be a results-oriented professional with verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion as well as customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines
  • Advance Analytic and Reporting skills
  • Ability to handle large data sets from multiple sources
  • Utilize sound judgement and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume, team environment

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and other analytical system tools/databases (e.g., SAP WEBI/BOBJ, PowerBI, Connected Excel, TABS Analytics, Nielsen, etc.)
  • Advanced Proficiency leveraging syndicated (Nielsen, IRI, etc.), consumer, shopper research and/or category management data
  • Sales or Marketing experience with major CPG company
