Job Summary
The Financial Data Services team at Compass Group USA is seeking a Data Product Business Analyst to bridge business needs, data products, and technical solutions. This role partners with business stakeholders, Product Managers, Data Engineers, and Architects to define requirements, support Agile delivery, and ensure enterprise data products deliver measurable business value. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with business acumen and a passion for transforming data into trusted, actionable insights.
Job Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering and Analysis
  • Collaborate with business partners to elicit, document, and prioritize data and analytics requirements.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of business processes and workflows to identify data needs and opportunities for improvement.
  • Create clear and concise documentation, including business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, data definitions, and use cases.
  • Translate business requirements into Features, User Stories, data requirements, and technical specifications.

Solution Design and Implementation
  • Partner with Product Managers, Data Engineers, and Architects to define and deliver data products that meet business needs and align with enterprise standards.
  • Participate in the development, testing, and deployment of data and analytics solutions.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across all implemented solutions.
  • Support validation, testing, and adoption of data products, reporting solutions, and analytical capabilities.

Business Partnership Engagement
  • Serve as a liaison between business users and technical teams, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and outcomes.
  • Support user adoption through documentation, demonstrations, and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Demonstrate the ability to adapt to changing priorities and communicate effectively with business partners.

Continuous Improvement
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in data, analytics, and technology.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance data processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of standards, governance practices, and delivery processes within the Financial Data Services team.
  • Apply analytical and statistical rigor to solve complex business problems and support data-driven decision making.

Job Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or Data Product Analyst supporting data and analytics initiatives.
  • Solid understanding of data products, data management principles, data warehousing, and business intelligence tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in SQL; experience with data visualization tools such as Looker, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms is preferred.
  • Experience working within Agile or SAFe delivery frameworks and tools such as Azure DevOps.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, competing priorities, and evolving business needs.
