Job description

About the Role:

PURE Insurance is seeking a motivated Associate Data Analyst to support our data modernization efforts and help build reliable, well-structured datasets used across the company. This role is ideal for early-career analysts interested in developing strong SQL skills, learning dbt fundamentals, and working with modern data tools like Databricks.

You will collaborate with analysts, analytics engineers, and business stakeholders to complete assigned analyses and data tasks, meet deadlines, and deliver reliable, well-documented outputs.

What You'll Do:

  • Complete assigned analytical tasks and deliver accurate, actionable insights within established timelines and due dates.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including Sales, Product, and Claims, to understand business questions, data needs, and expected deliverables.
  • Write SQL and contribute to dbt tasks, including model updates, testing, and documentation.
  • Support the timely execution of regulatory data calls and statistical reporting, including monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc requests.
  • Perform exploratory analysis to identify patterns, answer business questions, and support decision-making.
  • Document data definitions, processes, and findings to promote transparency, consistency, and reproducibility.
  • Build and deliver reports, dashboards, and other analytical outputs using Python and BI tools such as Hex.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, SQL and data visualization tools (coursework or internship experience is a plus).
  • Clear communicator with a willingness to learn and collaborate.
  • Curiosity, initiative, and a passion for working with data.

The base salary for this role can range from $70,000 to $85,000 based on a full-time work schedule. An individual's ultimate compensation will vary depending on job-related skills and experience, geographic location, alignment with market data, and equity among other team members with comparable experience.

To ensure a successful onboarding experience, all new hires must work onsite at one of our offices during their first week of employment. Candidates should apply only if they are able to meet this requirement.
