Position Description
Advertised Job Summary
Supervise operational duties of parking compliance enforcement staff. Ensure personnel are scheduled and dispatched to enforce parking and vehicle regulations campus wide.
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in a job related field and 1 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Customer-focused with strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability in making sound decisions and thriving in fast-paced environments. 
  • Ability to provide clear instructions, explain policies, and document incidents or violations. 
  • Ability to handle difficult situations with diplomacy and professionalism. 
  • Familiarity with parking management systems, ticketing software, and electronic payment systems.
Job Duties
Job Duty
Supervise parking compliance staff in the areas which they patrol and monitor. Communicate expectations and provide constructive feedback to assist employees with performance toward goal attainment. Patrol assigned parking areas to ensure appropriate presence of compliance staff and facilitate their work as needed. Monitor retrieval of meter funds collected and report malfunctioning meters to meter repair.

Enforce university parking rules and regulations when communicating with compliance field staff and when writing citations. Maintain close communication with dispatch to relay information about incidents, safety hazards or emergencies on or around campus to contribute to overall public safety. Observe safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.

Train staff in proper issuing of citations, counsel employees regarding work performance, and prepare documentation of disciplinary problems. Inspect work in progress and status of parking areas to determine need for additional training or work required.

Maintain regular contact with compliance staff on duty to support their efforts in the field. Receive information from patrol regarding proper posting of signage, adequate lighting, parking meter status and maintenance of surface lots and garages. Take appropriate action when needed, and or notify appropriate department resource to address findings.
