TITLE
Registered Nurse - Surgical Care
SCHEDULE
8-hour shifts; 0615-1445 Mon-Fri; no weekends, holidays, or call
ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: Normal
REQUIREMENTS
- Valid nursing license
- Experience in IV therapy and patient assessment
- Familiarity with diagnostic measures such as labs, radiology, and EKG
- Knowledge of anesthesia supplies and emergency response procedures
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assess and respond to patients' physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs; act as a patient advocate.
- Utilize nursing skills and judgment to implement care plans and treat identified problems.
- Communicate patient assessments to ensure the coordination of care.
- Accurately document in clinical records and complete necessary pre-surgical paperwork and activities.
- Provide education and instruction to patients and their families regarding procedures and care.
- Collaborate with surgical team members to monitor post-operative patients in recovery.
