Job description

Discover your exciting role
Exentec is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer in Nampa, ID, to design Point-of-Use gas abatement systems for the semiconductor industry. In this role, you will create, design, and draft product layouts and improvements based on customer specifications and engineering requirements. You will also test products, make design adjustments, and participate in hands-on lab work and design reviews. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a small, collaborative engineering team.
Explore your tasks and responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain accurate SolidWorks models and detailed engineering drawings.
  • Manage design changes from other engineers while maintaining model integrity.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Maintain and utilize the development lab, including test tools and equipment, to evaluate system improvements.
  • Operate and maintain a 3D printer for test fixtures and lab applications.
  • Develop and implement cost-reduction strategies.
  • Perform engineering calculations, including stress analysis, fluid flow, heat transfer, and chemical reaction modeling.
  • Conduct hands-on assembly and troubleshooting of prototype and production systems.
  • Research and evaluate design options to determine optimal solutions.
  • Specify appropriate materials and instrumentation for system designs.
  • Conduct experiments, collect data, and draw conclusions to support design decisions.
  • Organize and lead design review presentations.
  • Develop manufacturing and field service procedures.
  • Travel to customer sites to troubleshoot complex issues or support the implementation of new designs.
