Job description
The Contract Administration team plays a critical role in supporting our natural gas business. As an Associate Contract Administrator, you will help ensure that commercial agreements are accurately drafted, documented, implemented, and administered throughout their lifecycle.
LAUNCH YOUR CAREER IN THE ENERGY INDUSTRY
This is an ideal opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional who enjoys problem-solving, working with complex information, and producing high-quality work. While the role includes important administrative responsibilities, success requires strong analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, and the ability to apply logic and sound judgment in a dynamic business environment.
You'll work closely with Commercial, Accounting, Measurement, Legal, Operations, and external customers while developing specialized expertise in energy contract administration.
This is a full-time, on-site position reporting to the Contract Administration Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer a portfolio of natural gas contracts covering high volumes of gas and significant business activity
- Draft contracts, amendments, notices, and other contractual correspondence.
- Maintain contract information within the Quorum Contract Management System.
- Prepare Accounting Briefs for new and amended agreements.
- Monitor contractual obligations, deadlines, notice requirements, and trigger events.
- Audit settlement statements to ensure compliance with contractual terms.
- Research and resolve contract-related issues through analysis and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain contract files and supporting documentation.
- Prepare reports and provide contractual information to support business needs.
- Support due diligence efforts, special projects, Contract Administration initiatives and other responsibilities as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and SOX requirements.
The strongest candidates are intellectually curious and analytical professionals who thrive on:
- Digging into details, solving complex problems, and building deep expertise in the complexities of contractual agreements.
- Enjoy solving problems and figuring out how things work
- Use logic, reasoning, and attention to detail to identify issues and inconsistencies
- Take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.
- Thrive in an environment that requires organization, accountability, and follow-through.
- Are comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
- View Contract Administration as a profession and are interested in building a long-term career within the energy industry.
Contract Administration offers a unique opportunity to develop specialized expertise at the intersection of contracts, business processes, accounting, and the energy industry. As you gain experience, you will build a deep understanding of commercial agreements, contract interpretation, settlement processes, producer relationships, and the operational aspects of the natural gas business.
Successful Contract Administrators become trusted subject matter experts and take on increasing responsibility through the administration of more complex agreements, contract analysis, special projects, system initiatives, and mentoring opportunities.
This role is designed for individuals who are interested in building a long-term career in Contract Administration and developing expertise that is both highly valued and critical to the success of the business.
