Job Summary

Lead the construction of municipal public safety projects, including fire stations that serve your community! A.R. Mays Construction is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations, schedules, budgets, and quality on municipal projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily field operations and subcontractors on fire station and public safety projects
  • Coordinate with city officials, fire department representatives, engineers, and inspectors
  • Manage permits, inspections, change orders, and project documentation
  • Lead jobsite meetings, oversee punch lists, and ensure quality control
  • Mentor and manage field staff to deliver safe, compliant, and on-schedule projects


Minimum Requirements:

  • 3-5+ years as a Superintendent, preferably on municipal or public safety projects
  • High School Diploma or GED (Associate's or Bachelor’s in Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred)
  • Experience with ground-up construction, site work, and NFPA/fire safety codes
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Procore
