Job Summary
The Registered Respiratory Therapist will work with a team in a culture of learning and advancement, using scientific values, therapies, and techniques to improve patient care and outcomes.
Essential Functions of the Role
  • Performs and directs respiratory care services like oxygen and aerosol therapy. Works with the attending physician and care team. Administers care with quality and excellence, following procedures. Administers cardiopulmonary resuscitation in emergencies.
  • Adheres to established policies, including infection control, isolation, HIPAA, time and attendance, and social media.
  • Performs willingly and professionally with peers and patients to maintain the very best work environment and outcomes.
  • Embraces the autonomy to grow and enhance skills such that professional and technical requirements are accomplished.
  • Focuses on continuous quality improvement in all aspects of clinical care. Identifies, executes, and shares opportunities to improve patient care.
Key Success Factors
  • General knowledge of Respiratory Care modalities, therapies, equipment, and medications.
  • Able to read, write and follow flow chart protocols as appropriate.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • General computer skills, including but not limited to: data entry, information security, electronic medical documentation, hand-held scanning, and email.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • EDUCATION - Associate's or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
  • EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -
  • Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS in 30 days of hire or transfer.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP): Licensed by the State of Texas Medical Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP).
  • Reg Respiratory Therapist (RRT): Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board Respiratory Care.
