Vulnerability Management EngineerJob at a Glance:


Location: hybrid in Columbia, SC
Contract: W2 only, 12 month contract with potential for extension or conversion to full time 
Pay: $43.50 /hour + optional medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match
 

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor security dashboards and alerts to identify vulnerabilities, compliance gaps, and endpoint risks, and prioritize remediation based on risk and business impact.

  • Coordinate and execute remediation activities, including patch deployment, system configuration changes, and validation of resolved issues.

  • Administer and deploy infrastructure, including server hardware, software, and system configurations across multiple platforms.

  • Provide administration and maintenance of user devices and communication links to ensure operational availability.

  • Administer, test, and perform remedial maintenance on server hardware and software, including restoration activities as needed.

  • Manage server capacity, utilization, and performance, working across multiple platforms and collaborating with users and vendors to resolve issues.

  • Upgrade and configure server devices from multiple vendors, including planning, scheduling, and executing system upgrades from test through production environments.

  • Troubleshoot server performance issues by working directly with users, validating configurations, and generating utilization, trending, and error reports.

  • Monitor and control the performance and availability of server and system components across the environment.

  • Maintain access controls, authorization levels, and security configurations for server devices.

  • Execute and maintain backup and disaster recovery processes, including performing data backups and recovery operations when necessary.

  • Address vulnerabilities within required audit timeframes and ensure systems remain compliant with enterprise and regulatory standards.

  • Support audit readiness by validating controls, gathering evidence, and participating in continuous compliance review and remediation efforts.

  • Maintain and improve scan coverage, detection capabilities, and overall security posture across the environment.

  • Collaborate with security, architecture, and operations teams to troubleshoot issues and enhance processes and automation.

  • Create and maintain process documentation, while contributing to improvements in procedures, user guidance, and training materials.
