Job Description
AECOM is seeking a CAD Technician II to join our CCR team in the Franklin, TN office. The successful candidate will work on a wide variety of projects assigned from our Environment, Water, and Transportation business lines. The successful candidate will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering professional consulting services to our key clients.
The successful candidate will provide technical skills on projects within the department and will develop strong relationships with the team and clients to enable the pursuit of new opportunities. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, site personnel and office management, and work both independently and as part of a project team.
The successful candidate will be committed to the team's success and growth; will rigorously apply safety policies and procedures; will manage the technical, cost and schedule elements of project delivery; and will effectively manage the quality of project deliverables within the bounds of the AECOM Quality Management System.
The job responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Works under direct supervision performing moderately complex technical work utilizing instructions, drawings, sketches and results from computer systems and schematics.
  • May be involved in training and supervising technical personnel.
  • May perform some data entry.
  • Perform as a resource for CAD drafting/modeling at the project level.
  • Prepare high-quality design deliverables.
  • Perform CAD drafting/modeling in a manner which adheres to accepted engineering practices and standards, as well as company and client standards.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and deployment of CAD drafting/modeling and survey standards on an office level.
  • Working closely with design professionals at a project level to produce deliverables with minimal supervision.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • HS + 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate's Degree in Engineering, Design, Environmental Science or related field
  • 3+ years of experience working in an environmental consulting firm
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation, and OpenRoads.
  • Experience with survey and grading design.
  • Experience with REVIT.
  • Experience with BIM. Able to produce construction documents in BIM environments from start to finish with limited assistance.
