Intellectual Property Disputes – Junior/Midlevel Associate

Locations: Century City, CA | Chicago, IL | San Francisco, CA | Seattle, WA | Silicon Valley, CA | Washington, D.C.

*Hybrid onsite Tuesday through Thursday (3 days per week)*

Position Summary: We are seeking highly qualified junior to midlevel associates (1–5 years of post-JD experience) to join our Intellectual Property Disputes practice group. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-stakes IP litigation matters across a wide range of technologies and industries, including software, telecommunications, semiconductors, consumer electronics, and emerging tech.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in complex patent litigation and intellectual property disputes in federal courts and before the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC).
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and trial preparation documents.
  • Collaborate with cross-office and cross-functional teams, including IP counseling and prosecution groups.
  • Engage directly with clients and participate in strategy discussions and case development.
  • Support senior attorneys with deposition preparation, witness interviews, and trial/expert preparation.

Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
  • 1–5 years of relevant experience at a large law firm or specialized IP litigation boutique.
  • Admission to the bar in the jurisdiction of the office to which you are applying (required).
  • Strong background or demonstrated interest in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related technical field is highly preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with patent litigation, especially in the technology sector, is a significant plus.
  • A team-oriented mindset, strong work ethic, and commitment to delivering outstanding client service.
