Job description

We are seeking an IT Help Desk Technician I to join our team at BKF Engineers!

This position is designed for those with a passion for technology and customer service. The IT Help Desk Technician will provide front-line support for all IT-related issues and support the organization's technology infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Install, configure, and deploy computer systems, peripherals, and software applications.
  • Assist users with application issues, and guide them in utilizing software effectively.
  • Maintain inventory of IT equipment and ensure proper software licensing.
  • Document, track, and manage support requests in the help desk ticketing system.
  • Provide basic IT training to staff on new technologies.
  • Collaborate with senior IT staff on the resolution of more complex issues.
  • Assist with IT projects and initiatives as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • 1-2 years of experience in an IT support or help desk role.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking.
  • Familiarity with Windows OS and Microsoft Office applications.
