Job description

We are seeking Lab Associate join IQVIA Laboratories at Valencia, CA.

Job Summary:

Perform routine hematology laboratory testing and analysis to generate accurate data for clinical trials research. This role is responsible for specimen testing, data review, documentation, laboratory support activities, and maintaining compliance with applicable regulatory and quality standards.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Perform routine analysis of specimens and document results in accordance with SOPs and regulatory guidelines

  • Evaluate analytical results against laboratory system algorithms and identify discrepancies

  • Escalate unusual findings, performance issues, or potential errors to senior laboratory personnel

  • Prepare buffers, solutions, and materials required for laboratory testing

  • Store samples and reagents appropriately following analysis activities

  • Assist with laboratory procedure development, documentation updates, and continuous improvement efforts

  • Support laboratory housekeeping, safety, quality, and 6S initiatives

  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and notify staff of supply shortages

What We Are Looking For:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent OR Bachelor's Degree (some CAP/CLIA laboratory locations may require a BS in Chemistry, Biology, or Medical Laboratory Technology) 6 months relevant lab experience

  • Basic knowledge of laboratory principles

  • Basic knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and applicable regulatory agency standards

  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment, instrumentation, and terminology used within the area of responsibility

  • Knowledge of laboratory safety, infection control procedures, standard precautions, and hazardous chemical handling

  • Applicable certifications and licenses as required by country, state, and/or other regulatory bodies

  • Other equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree

  • Ability to maintain effective reporting procedures and control workflow

  • Ability to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders

Physical Demands:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, close eye work requirement (computer, typing, reading small prints). Physical demands vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. Occasional exposure to cold temperatures.
