What you will be doing

 In this role on our growing Analytics team, you will help to advance ACI's purpose to inspire wellbeing by uncovering insights that allow us to make health more accessible. You will be a key collaborator within the Pharmacy & Health Business, supplying reporting around food program initiatives, marketing communications, developing financial modeling based on analytical forecasts, and reporting on customer interactions within our internally developed digital app. You will gain a deep understanding of our customers and use that knowledge to derive insights about new initiatives. This role will allow you to interact closely with the Product and Customer Engagement teams, and to help measure successes and provide feedback loops for new launches.  

As a Data Analyst on the Pharmacy team, you will work with external and internal data sets to synthesize insights, build models, and perform analysis to support the business. Successful candidates will be comfortable working with ambiguity to distill simple insights from complex data and can work independently to drive decisions forward with key stakeholders.  

The position's preferred base is in Boise, Idaho.
 

Main responsibilities:

  • Research and analysis - gather, clean, and normalize data from disparate sources into workable data models using various tools.  
  • Advanced SQL- Use SQL to source insights from derived datasets, not from simple aggregation, and work using efficient coding practices for a Big Data environment.  
  • Collaborate with leadership and business partners to streamline reporting requirements within existing data models.  
  • Lead analyses that involve complex analytics to solve a variety of business issues that may have cross-functional impact..
  • Present key findings and making recommendations based on data, communicating business performance in a clear and insightful way to the business to facilitate timely and informed decision making.
  • Be curious. Work with the team to ideate and scope big ideas that can help the business drive accelerated portfolio growth and engagement.
  • Be customer first.  Innovate on digital and in-store interactions to benefit our customers and increase engagement.
  • Some travel may be required, up to 5%. 

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

  • Flexible self-starter and team player who works well in various situations (from well-defined to unstructured) and proactively identifies business improvement areas.
  • Advanced skills in SQL and Microsoft Power BI (or similar data-vis software).
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and multi-task to meet deadlines.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset.  Thrives in ambiguous work environments with an ability to bring structure and process, identify opportunities for improvement, define goals and outcomes, drive action, and achieve results.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to submit error-free deliverables.
  • Strategic bent with the curiosity and ability to understand our customers, partners, and industry to help arrive at the right building blocks for future growth.
  • Strong problem-solving skills. Thinks strategically with an ability to execute.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and multi-task to meet deadlines.
  • Advanced skills in Excel for ad hoc analysis.  

We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline is preferred (computer science, business, finance) but other disciplines or equivalent experience will be considered.  
  • 3 plus years of experience in data analysis or data science.  
  • Experience with customer journey, retail, pharmacy are a plus.  
  • Experience and advanced experience with Data Visualization tools required (Power BI, Tableau, or a similar tools).  
  • Expertise in SQL is required.  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications for ad hoc reporting and presentations, with advanced Excel for analytics knowledge.  
  • Experience using JIRA for project management a plus.  
  • Some travel may be required, up to 5%.
