Job description

Job Types: 
  • W2VHE - Variable Hour Employee - Computer Field Technician.
  • This position is not regular F/T and does NOT include healthcare benefits, vacation, sick-days and holidays.
  • Position has the potential to turn into full-time over a period of time.

Computer Field Techs - A+ certification and/or associate's degree in the computer field and 2+ years of professional business working experience in the computer repair field.

Job Details:
  • Location: Travel across the Michigan University Campus.
  • Work days: Monday through Friday.
  • Shift:  7:00 AM-3:30 PM (30 min. lunch & two 15 min. breaks).

Job Description:
  • Travel to different client sites for device installation, de-install, and general setup.
  • Commute to the different locations on the University campus.
  • Imaging SCCM in the Customer staging area.
  • Installation and De-installation of PC Computers.
  • Intermediate level using Microsoft EXCEL.
  • Data Migration via USMT (as needed).
  • Updating Customer ticketing system.
  • Monday through Friday, 8am – 5pm.
  • Valid State Driver’s License.
  • Minimum State auto insurance on your vehicle.
  • Good driving record over the last 3-years. (2 or less traffic violations).
  • Must be able to clear a full criminal background check/drug test and get all the necessary vaccinations. 

Vaccination Requirements:
  • Measles, mumps, rubella (MRM).
  • Varicella.
  • Pertussis.
  • Tetanus and diphtheria (Tdap vaccination is required).
  • Influenza (current season).
  • Proof of a negative TB skin or blood test within the past year, as applicable.
The process may take up to 2 weeks. (Reimbursement on the first paycheck).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Repetitive motion capability, good eye/hand coordination, manual dexterity sufficient to assemble units or small parts of equipment, detail-oriented, and ability to work alone.

REQUIRED:
  • Level 2: Associate's degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Information Services, or related field, or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Background check/drug screening required.
