WHO YOU ARE:

As our BI Architect, you will lead the development and delivery of actionable business intelligence solutions that drive decision-making across sales, inventory, and operations.  

Reporting to the Head of IT, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing BI and data analytics team within IT. 
  • Define and execute a BI and analytics roadmap to scale self-serve analytics, improve reporting efficiency, and support business-wide decision-making. 
  • Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reports, including Power BI solutions, covering sales, inventory, merchandising, and store performance metrics. 
  • Utilize Microsoft Fabric components, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Dataflows Gen2, and Notebooks, to support end-to-end data solutions.  
  • Design, develop, and optimize semantic data models using Power BI datasets and DAX.  
  • Build, maintain, and enhance ETL/ELT pipelines leveraging Fabric Data Factory.  
  • Integrate and consolidate data from diverse sources such as SQL Server, Azure SQL, APIs, and cloud-based platforms.  
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability by monitoring quality, enforcing governance, and maintaining compliance standards. 
  • Create and maintain clear documentation for PBI Fabric Lakehouse/Warehouse configurations, datasets and data models. 
  • Serve as the primary IT point of contact for all reporting and analytics needs across corporate and store operations. 
  • Collaborate with project managers and team members to understand their business requirements and translate them into dashboard visualizations, providing actionable insights and strategic recommendations to support retail operations. 
  • Act as a subject matter expert in modern BI tools, advising on reporting, analytics methodologies, and data visualization best practices. 
  • Stay current with emerging BI technologies and IT best practices to enhance reporting and analytics capabilities. 
  • Additional tasks as required. 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business, or related field. 
  • 10+ years of experienceinreporting tools likePower BI development. 
  • Strong hands-on experience withMicrosoft Fabric, including Lakehouse and Warehousing concepts. 
  • Strong expertise in Power BI (DAX, Power Query, data modeling, dashboard development), SQL and Oracle. 
  • Experience working with Azure Data Services (Azure SQL, Synapse, Data Lake) and integrating data from multiple sources (e.g., ERP systems, ServiceNow, Workday, Jira, SonarQube). 
  • Experience with retail data systems, POS/ERP integrations, and retail metrics reporting. 
  • Understanding ofdata security, RLS, and governance.  
  • Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL/ELT processes. 
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, mentor staff, and manage multiple priorities. 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. 
  • Familiarity with additional BI tools is a plus.
