CAD Designer (Mechanical)

Description
FS-Elliott is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our Manufacturing facility in Export, PA. This is a key functional role, responsible for providing 3D modeling and 2D CAD drafting support, as well as modifying as-built models, assemblies, and drawings as directed.
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with New Product Development, Project Engineering, and Sustaining Engineering teams to complete CAD product design modeling and drawings in accordance with FS-Elliott policies and procedures.
  • Ensure project schedules and goals are achieved without compromising quality.
  • Modify and/or generate 3D models and 2D drawings as needed.
  • Communicate and interface with various departments to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Work directly with Project Engineering and Operations teams to ensure prompt and effective problem-solving.
  • Assist with creating and maintaining Engineering Change Notice (ECN) documentation.
  • Conduct thorough checks of drawings and layouts prior to submission for approval.
  • Analyze and review Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) to determine root causes and prepare corrective actions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Skills Knowledge and Experience
Education: Associate's Degree (AS) in Mechanical Technology or Drafting/Design Technology, or equivalent from a two-year college, university, or trade school. Equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence and high professional standards.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to listen attentively and convey information clearly.
  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and adaptable; able to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • 3-5 years of mechanical design experience, including creation of 3D models and assemblies.
  • Experience with turbomachinery is preferred.
  • Proficient in mechanical design using AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, or similar software to produce high-quality 3D models, assemblies, and detailed part drawings.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365.
