Nationwide Insurance is seeking candidates for Feature Engineer Intern positions to join the Enterprise Analytics Office (EAO) from May to August 2027 in Columbus, Ohio.
The Feature Engineer team works with Data Scientists to transform AI/ML models into integrated solutions contributing to company success. In this role, you will collaborate closely with data scientists to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines that support machine learning models and advanced analytics. Your role will be to transform raw data into reliable, well-documented datasets optimized for analysis and modeling.
Candidates should be pursuing a graduate degree in any of the following areas: Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Web Development, Information Technology, or related fields.
Required Experience: Candidates should demonstrate hands on experience with the following expectations:
  • Knowledge of common Linux/Unix commands and functions
  • Accomplished self-learner, demonstrating an awareness of technology trends and ability to learn and teach.
  • Analyzes and resolves moderately complex issues related to application support and logging
  • Implement solutions with complex business requirements and systems integrations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality datasets
  • Prepares detailed specifications, requirements, scope documents, and logic flowcharts for the development and implementation of the most complex application programs and modifications
  • Application testing to ensure that the provided solution is executable, testable, complete and not ambiguous while meeting all end-user requirements
