As our Buyer, you'll be responsible for all purchasing of material, equipment and supplies, and selected commodity components.

The Buyerwill:
  • Obtain quotations, prepare and place purchase orders on a group or groups of commodities, material, supplies and equipment
  • Participate and/or conduct Supplier Audits and provide constructive feedback
  • Responsible for managing supplier base
  • Determine proper sources of supply for most economical purchases
  • Locates new sources of supply as necessary
  • Support Engineering in the development of new products and/or new suppliers
  • Expedite deliveries as necessary to meet production schedules
  • Maintain or improve purchase costs relative to the established standards
  • Recommend policies and procedures for purchasing functions
  • Maintain supplier information in the business system and related databases
  • Participate in the Material Review Board (MRB) as needed - including developing and processing Discrepant Material Reports (DMRs) and assisting in part analysis
  • Control of inventory levels for assigned commodities
  • Assist with other related duties as required or assigned

About you - What you'll bring to the table:
  • Minimum 3 years related experience required and bachelor's degree OR Supply Chain Management or related Degree without experience
  • Availability for nonstandard or extended work schedule
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of personal computers
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Requires having the technical ability to learn quickly and capable of applying this knowledge towards new engineering concepts
  • Background in project management
  • Requires self-motivation and ability to complete objectives
  • Pleasant and helpful telephone manner

  • General knowledge of ISO 9000

What OTTO offers for this specific position:
The hiring range listed in this posting is what we, in good faith, anticipate relying on when confirming a base salary for this position; exceptions may be considered for highly experienced candidates with multiple years of at-level experience.
  • Target base salary hiring range: $60,000 to $70,000,based on qualifications and experience.
  • Profit Sharing Bonus - OTTO believes that it's fair to share the profits that the employees help to make; profit sharing is distributed to employees twice a year. OTTO's profit sharing plan is paid at the discretion of the company and is not a guaranteed bonus or any part of a compensation plan.
  • Vacation: 80 hours - vacation time is earned on the anniversary date.
