The Marketing Associate must be a highly motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills, who can support the firm’s business development efforts with marketing, graphics, research and communications skills. Specifically, the role supports the brokerage operations in the Toronto West office developing presentations, collateral and sales tools; coordinates client engagement activities, events, PR/media; and supports as-needed regional and departmental marketing initiatives.

The base salary is aligned with market data and is estimated to be between $50,000 to $62,000 with the ability to achieve additional compensation through a bonus. This salary range reflects base compensation for the position across all Canadian locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and other factors, including relevant education/training, experience, and internal equity. This posting is for an existing vacancy withing our organization.


  • Produce marketing materials including but not limited to brochures, flyers, direct mail, advertisements, newsletters, invitations, banners, proposals and presentations
  • Create web-based marketing tools and communications using HubSpot (Avison Young’s email marketing platform)
  • Act as steward of the firm’s brand and visual brand standards
  • Assist in the creation and management of property marketing campaigns and signage requests
  • Create, modify, and format PowerPoint presentations, word documents, and excel charts by incorporating graphic elements such as pictures, logos, excel charts, floor plans, etc.
  • Create or coordinate the creation of custom maps, site plans and building stack plans for use in proposals and presentations
  • Manage and maintain the market/region’s graphic files, including the firms’ stock and custom created photos and illustrations
  • Collaborate with research (the Market Intelligence team) on market reports and newsletters; statistical graphs, charts and tables; white papers and PowerPoint presentations
  • Collaborate with the PR/communications team on developing media-worthy content, eg. new hires, closed deals, research reports, market specific and regional news, trends and stories
  • Remain abreast of Avison Young’s new technology and innovation initiatives within the marketing organization and identity areas of use in the local market; commitment to evolve skills with changing needs
  • Participate in the firm’s strategic marketing and communications best practices meetings, conference calls and strategy sessions

  • 2-4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in commercial real estate
  • Proficiency working with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator); and expertise with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Strong knowledge of print and web design and production
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills, with attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and work effectively both independently and in teams
  • Understanding of and commitment to client service
  • Able to prioritize tasks in order to meet established and arising deadlines
  • College degree in Marketing/Communications or other related field, or three years of relevant marketing experience in a corporate environment
  • Prior experience in commercial real estate considered an asset
