Manager, Marketing and Communications
HBCU in Alabama
Salary Range: $70,000 per year, with potential flexibility based on experience
Terrific Marketing and Communications Manager position with a Historically Black College and University (HBCU) in Alabama.
The Marketing and Communications Manager will lead the creation and implementation for marketing and communications strategy for the college. This includes all internal and external communications. The Manager will implement integrated communications strategies that include media relations, marketing campaigns, and storytelling to provide consistent messaging. The role will have one direct report and also work closely with external contractors for digital and social media management.
Responsibilities:
  • Create and implement communications and marketing strategies
  • Serve as the point of contact for media relations and coordinate related activities
  • Provide support to the Advancement team through messaging, donor communications, and other collateral
  • Manage internal communications, including newsletters, announcements, and updates
  • Work with the President as needed on leadership communications
  • Collaborate with external contractors on digital and social media management
  • Manage one direct report
Qualifications:
  • Approximately 5+ years of relevant marketing, communications, or PR experience
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Experience in higher education or nonprofit
  • Demonstrated track record of success managing marketing and communications strategies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding and familiarity with HBCU's
  • Comfortable managing direct reports and collaborating with leadership
