Job description

Warehouse Lead - 1st shift - 6 am- 2:30pm (Monday-Friday)

The team leader is responsible for leading tasks associated with Batavia outbound. This means leading tasks including but not limited to check in, matching, sorting, packing, processing, and all other functions to support processing outbound orders.  Use of the Warehouse management system (WMS) and Radio frequency devices (RF's) may be required to carry out processing of material, and to maintain inventory integrity.  

Your Impact

  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. 
  • Identify and report faulty equipment, damage, and safety concerns to Supervisor immediately. 
  • Follow company standards and legal regulations to ensure a safe and positive work atmosphere. 
  • Leads various tasks throughout Batavia including, but not limited to:
  • Check-in, matching, unpacking, matching, counting, sorting, packing, and processing.
  • Teach, train and communicate safety, quality, and productivity standards
  • Motivate and engage operational staff and associates to ensure facility results are achieved in a high energy, engaging environment
  • Solve daily operational problems with a can-do approach

 

Essential Job Functions

Physical Involvement

  • Continuous gripping of objects of varying sizes and weights up to 13lbs.                   
  • Continuous standing and walking on concrete floor.
  • Frequent kneeling, crouching, bending, squatting, looking up and twisting.
  • Frequent elevated work at waist to chest level.
  • Frequent lifting of 50lbs.
  • Frequent lifting of 50lbs.-70lbs. from floor to waist level.
  • Frequent push/pull of up to 50lbs.
  • Frequent reaching from overhead to waist level of up to 13lbs.
  • Maximal lift of 70lbs.
  • Occasional carry of 20lbs. in one hand.
  • Occasional climbing of stairs and ladder.
  • Occasional lifting to chest level of 70lbs.
  • Occasional pushing/pulling of 400lbs. hand truck.
  • Occasional pushing/pulling to 65lbs. at waist level.

Behavior and Mental Involvement

  • Must be able to coach and lead a TEAM
  • Must be able to resolve and escalate conflict when necessary
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all operational staff and co-workers
  • Must be able to perform basic arithmetic calculations (i.e., addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
  • Must be able to understand and communicate both verbally and in written form in English since instructions, labels and other documents are in English.
  • Must be able to take direction, accept change and handle additional tasks as assigned.
  • Must not present a direct threat or unreasonable risk to him/herself or others.
  • Must represent the Company in a positive manner to co-workers and outside personnel.

Your Experience and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Three to twelve months of relevant experience working in a packaging operation.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The team leader will set up work areas, direct workflow, allocate resources, and improve processes within a workgroup.  The team leader will report to the Warehouse Supervisor and will not have any disciplinary   or corrective action authority.

Working Conditions

  • Work is primarily performed within a warehouse setting both indoors and outdoors.
  • Noise levels vary; however, there is no continuous exposure to hazardous noise levels.
  • Proper lifting techniques and caution in handling materials contribute to the maximum safety of the employee.

This position will pay within the range $28.13 -$32.82 per hour, based on experience. This position is eligible for gainsharing.
