CAD Designer
Location: Tampa, FL
Tower Engineering Professionals is seeking a full-time CAD Designer. As a Designer, you will serve as an integral member of our engineering team. Tower Engineering Professionals offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical and dental insurance, paid vacation and holidays, 401k with company match, and a relaxed, fun environment.
**Candidates with Civil or Electronic Engineering or Drafting amp; Design are encouraged to apply. MUST be located in Tampa, FL to be considered for this role. Relocation assistance will not be included**
CAD Designer/Draft amp; Design (Telecommunications) Responsibilities:
โ— Work directly with project engineers to develop construction drawings for utility projects
โ— Plan and prepare preliminary layouts and detailed design drawings from engineering notes, sketches, and/or other drawings
โ— Research and obtain standards/codes required by clients and Jurisdictions and ensure drawings comply
โ— Research and obtain local land base amp; existing utility as-built shapefiles for import
โ— Review drawings for completeness, accuracy and quality
โ— Organize/maintain all revisions of project drawings, plot files and project-related information in a logical and well-structured manner
โ— Create permit drawings, utility schematics and as-built drawings
โ— Submit encroachment and specialty permits (city, county, state, local municipalities, CSX, NSRR, etc.)
โ— Input as-built information into client specific records/mapping systems
โ— Adhere to task level budgets and project schedules
โ— Periodically make trips to the project location to collect necessary information for design drawings
โ— May be required to perform other duties as assigned by manager
CAD Designer/Draft amp; Design (Telecommunications) Qualifications:
โ— 0-2 years of progressive work experience in Computer Aided Drafting with the latest AutoCAD version
โ— Fiber/Small Cell/DAS design experience preferred but not required
โ— Have a strong working knowledge of AutoCAD (Civil 3D preferred) in a design capacity as related to: Layer management and usage, Import/Export of different file types (.shp / .dwg / .dgn / .pdf / etc.), Drawing scales as they relate to text, dimensions, lines, viewports, x-References, etc., Plotting and Plot scales, Cross-Sections amp; Profiles (Point Clouds is a plus but not required)
โ— Ability to read and interpret engineering/construction drawings
โ— Ability to prioritize daily with respect to projects, deadlines, CAD standards, etc.
โ— High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
โ— Willingness/ability to assume increased responsibilities when presented
โ— Ability to work independently and as a team player
โ— Must enjoy working in a fast-paced and rapidly changing work environment
โ— Excellent written and oral communication skills
โ— Must pass criminal background check and drug screen
