Position Mission

The Senior Business Analyst partners with stakeholders across FOCUS and FMF to understand business needs, model current processes, propose practical solutions, configure and improve business systems, train users, and hold teams accountable to agreed-upon processes and standards. This role supports a portfolio of enterprise and departmental systems that may include constituent relationship management platforms, payment processors, reporting and analytics tools, workflow platforms, and other connected business applications. The role combines business analysis, solution design, data governance, systems configuration, training, and cross-functional leadership to strengthen data quality, operational efficiency, user adoption, and scalable ministry support across the organization.

Position Responsibilities

  • Process Design and Optimization
    • Meet with stakeholders to understand business needs, pain points, desired outcomes, and success measures.
    • Model current business processes and identify gaps affecting system integrity, data quality, efficiency, accountability, or scalability.
    • Propose and implement solutions that may include process changes, system configuration, integrations, reporting, training, or role clarity.
    • Own standard operating procedures (SOPs) for core business workflows so institutional knowledge is documented and repeatable.
  • Business Systems Configuration and Administration
    • Configure, administer, and continuously improve business systems based on stakeholder needs and organizational priorities.
    • Translate business requirements into scalable system configurations, workflows, fields, rules, permissions, and user experiences.
    • Maintain data integrity through field standards, validation practices, de-duplication routines, and process controls.
    • Manage user access, roles, permissions, onboarding, and offboarding across supported business systems.
  • Data Governance Strategy and Policy
    • Lead development, documentation, and ongoing refinement of data governance policies and standards across FOCUS/FMF systems, including clear definitions for systems of record, data ownership, and stewardship.
    • Partner with the Director of Business Solutions to define data quality standards, data ownership, and stewardship practices.
    • Identify data governance risks and gaps across the organization and recommend remediation plans.
    • Ensure data governance practices abide by applicable legal and regulatory standards.
  • Systems Integration and Vendor Management
    • Manage how supported systems integrate across the data pipeline, including platforms such as CRMs, payment processors, Smartsheet, Power BI/Fabric, and other enterprise tools.
    • Stay current on supported system capabilities, releases, integrations, and vendor roadmaps; evaluate new features and escalate support issues as needed.
    • Provide budget input and recommendations on systems and tools that support CRM and data infrastructure needs.
  • Strategic Planning and Cross-Departmental Leadership
    • Provide strategic input on business systems, data governance, and process improvement roadmaps in partnership with IT leadership.
    • Translate high-level organizational goals into concrete, actionable solution plans across processes, systems, data, reporting, and adoption.
    • Lead and manage projects that span multiple departments, coordinating stakeholders toward shared data and process goals.
    • Serve as a subject-matter expert on business systems, data governance, process design, and user adoption best practices for stakeholders across the organization.
  • Reporting and Analytics
    • Build, maintain, or support reports and dashboards that provide management insight, monitor process health, and support accountability.
    • Ensure reporting accuracy by maintaining strong underlying data governance practices.
    • Ensure FMF and FOCUS alignment on reporting.
  • Compliance, Security and Documentation
    • Ensure supported business system practices abide by relevant legal, regulatory, and data security standards.
    • Maintain data security and privacy practices for constituent data.
    • Document system configuration decisions, data governance policies, training materials, and supported business processes for institutional continuity.
  • Training, Support and Team Development
    • Train and support FOCUS/FMF staff on approved processes, system use, data standards, and governance expectations.
    • Serve as the escalation point for complex enterprise system configuration questions.
    • Mentor and upskill others on business systems, process discipline, data governance practices, and accountable use of shared tools.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field required
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of experience configuring, administering, or improving business systems such as CRMs, constituent management platforms, payment processors, workflow tools, or reporting platforms.
    • Demonstrated experience building or maintaining data governance frameworks and practices.
    • Experience translating business needs and data strategy into system configuration, process design, reporting, training, and adoption plans.
    • Experience mapping and redesigning business processes (process improvement background a plus).
    • Nonprofit, faith-based, or higher-ed advancement experience a plus.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong expertise configuring and administering business systems, with experience in CRM or constituent relationship management platforms preferred.
    • Working knowledge of Power BI or comparable reporting/analytics tools.

    • Strong cross-functional collaborator able to lead projects spanning multiple departments.
    • Clear communicator able to translate technical, process, data, and systems concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, and hold stakeholders accountable to shared processes, data standards, and system adoption expectations.
