Job description

Operations Technology Solutions builds and operates the technology that keeps Amazon operations sites connected and running. The OTS Ops Tech Analytics team develops the metrics and reporting used in Weekly Operational Reviews and Quarterly Business Reviews.
As a Business Intelligence Engineer II, you will build data pipelines, models, dashboards, and AI assisted analytics that help Field IT leaders understand performance and make informed decisions. You will work across the analytics lifecycle, from raw operational data through executive scorecards, with a strong focus on accuracy, clarity, and scalable reporting.
Key job responsibilities
Write and optimize advanced SQL and Amazon Redshift transformations across large operational datasets.
Design data models and staging layers that convert Field IT data into reliable, well documented metrics.
Build and maintain Weekly Operational Review and Quarterly Business Review dashboards and scorecards in Amazon QuickSight and Amazon Quick Suite.
Validate and reconcile metrics before they are included in leadership reporting.
Investigate metric discrepancies by reviewing definitions, transformation logic, and upstream source systems.
Translate operational questions into clear, consistent, and defensible measurements.
Apply generative AI and large language model assisted methods to support anomaly investigation, metric analysis, and self service reporting.
Partner with analysts, engineers, and program leaders to define new metrics, improve existing measurements, and retire metrics that no longer provide meaningful insight.
A day in the life
You may begin the day validating the metrics prepared for an operational review and investigating an unexpected change in a Field IT measure

Later, you might optimize a Redshift transformation, publish an updated data model, and improve QuickSight visuals for a nontechnical audience. You may also work with a program leader to define a new quarterly metric or prototype an LLM assisted workflow that drafts initial explanations for recurring anomalies.
About the team
OTS Ops Tech Analytics builds and operates the metrics layer for Operations Technology Solutions. The team produces Weekly Operational Review and Quarterly Business Review scorecards used by Field IT Operations leaders

We are investing in AWS native data pipelines and AI assisted analytics to improve the scale, accuracy, and clarity of our reporting.
